What is the process for the first ambulance to arrive and the OVDG at a major incident? Who is responsible when, and takes what decisions? In this experience, we take the OVDG and Command&Control through the whole scenario.
In the event of a large-scale incident, many logistical issues arise. It is essential that everyone knows their roles and responsibilities. In a "live" training there is often insufficient time to introduce all participants to the role of C&C. This is why we designed an immersive training.
Players must determine the best way to arrive, and the best position for the first ambulance. Then they focus on logistics such as the T3 shelter location and the casualty staging area. The OVDG follows their own path and participates in multidisciplinary meetings, for example. The experience concludes with a stress test for all players, in which as many dilemmas as possible must be solved in as little time as possible.
